Trainer Martyn Meade believes it is only a matter of time before the luckless Chelsea Lad enjoys his day in the sun.
The four-year-old was a hot favourite to make a successful return from almost a year on the sidelines in last month's Spring Cup at Newbury, but was pulled up by Ryan Moore after going lame.
He made a relatively swift comeback in a Listed event at York a couple of weeks ago and emerged with plenty of credit after finishing second, despite jockey Richard Kingscote losing his whip.
Meade said: "He should have won at York. Unfortunately Richard got his whip taken out of his hand. He had come to win his race.
"I know this horse, he will run through a wall for you and all he needed to do was give him the whip. He just went to do it and it got knocked out of his hand and was left riding hands and heels.
"We needed to win that race after all the hype of him pulling up at Newbury. It was one of those things that couldn't be helped.
"He is ground dependent, so we will be looking for a little bit of cut in the ground. That does make a difference and it helped at York.
"We will keep him ticking over waiting for the ground and if the ground was right we would go to Royal Ascot, but I guess it wouldn't be.
"There is a big one in him. He's just been unlucky."
