Marco Botti has pinpointed the 156th Baden Grand Prix as the next target for his globetrotting stable star Giavellotto.
Giavellotto has contested Group 1 races around the world over the past two seasons, winning the Hong Kong Vase in December 2024, while in Britain his last two victories have come at the expense of Kalpana.
Giavellotto beat the mare by a length and a half in the Group 3 September Stakes at Kempton last season and repeated the trick in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot where Kalpana reduced the margin to a short-head.
Kalpana has gone on to record a famous victory in the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Botti was asked whether he regretted not letting Giavellotto take his chance.
"It was great to see the form franked," he told ITV Racing.
"In the King George Kalpana was awesome, that form, I would think everyone would say, was probably her best form ever so it's very hard to say if we were in the race we would have been there.
"In hindsight, we didn't want to run in the King George thinking he had a busy season in Hong Kong, Qatar, Dubai.
"I just felt it was probably a little bit too much for him but afterwards, of course, I wish he was in and maybe he would have run into a place.
"Credit to Giavellotto as well. He's an old horse, he's up to that level and his next step will be at Baden Baden on 6th September and we'll give some thoughts to the Breeders' Cup and Hong Kong."
The Baden Grand Prix was won last year by Goliath and has attracted a strong entry including Sunday's Group 1 winner Tiffany and Al Riffa as well as the defending champion.
