Man On The Spot best bets for Wolverhampton on Saturday

Check out our race-by-race verdicts and nap selection for Saturday's meeting at Wolverhampton.

4.50

DOUBLE REFLECTION won at Beverley recently with a bit to spare and a 5lb rise is negated by an apprentice’s allowance - she can go in again in a weak contest. Thawry is back on a winning mark and finished closer at Newcastle earlier in the week while Amor Fati also posted a better effort a Chelmsford last time. Puckle completed a double at Beverley in August but struggled on his first outing on the all-weather at Chelmsford.

5.25

Mister Allegro won easily at Kempton two runs ago but is now 10lb higher having placed at the same track subsequently. GYPSY BOY failed in a bid to land a gamble when only third over 7f here on his handicap debut but this extra distance should suit and he gets another chance. Headshot finished behind the selection last time while Ghayahib, Eyes and Mia Mia are upped in trip but Ghostly may do better now handicapping.

5.55

Rich Waters won by a head over today’s trip at Kempton but is penalised and a couple of these may improve for the step up in distance. Ibn Arabi took a step forward when placed over 6f here last time but SHALANEZ was doing his best work in the closing stages over the same trip at the track on his debut and may prove the one to side with. Batraan and Numoor look likely to improve for yards in fine form while Duke Of Prussia is a full brother to a Listed winner and a half-brother to a host of other winners and is a newcomer to note.

6.30

Rated 76 having placed in a handicap at Sandown last time, LONG HAIRED LOVER had also placed in three previous outings on the all-weather and looks to have leading claims back at this level. Messalina may prove a threat having shown some promise over track and trip on her debut while Divine Summer only faded in the closing stages over a mile at Chelmsford on her reappearance and can finish closer over this shorter trip. Tefnut is a half-sister to four winners and preferred to Fauvette of the newcomers.

7.00

THOWQ was a big disappointment attempting to make all at Redcar having gone close at Yarmouth before that. A more restrained ride today could see her back to her best and she’s preferred to Sunset Kiss. The latter was beaten less than a length at Newmarket when last seen but that was over a year ago and Golden Love may prove a bigger danger upped in trip having debuted over 6f at Redcar as she’s the first foal of a Listed winner over a mile. Hi Way finished a bit closer at Yarmouth last time and looks best of the rest.

7.30

El Hombre won here back in March with Katheefa behind and the latter subsequently went close in the same month. But FULL AUTHORITY has the more recent form having placed in both starts in handicaps so far and Sir Michael Stoute’s colt should find this easier than his latest task in a Class 2 sprint at Chelmsford. Venturous was beaten less than a length in this grade at Chester last time but Dandys Gold makes more appeal racing off the same mark as when second at Newcastle.

8.00

Bahuta Acha beat Lucky Lodge and End Zone when scoring over track and trip a fortnight ago and should make another bold bid given Lucky Lodge went on to win at Newcastle last week. Dana Forever was beaten only a nose over 5f here recently and Lezardrieux went close over the same distance at Pontefract but CHOOKIE DUNEDIN (NAP) was beaten less than a length at Ayr. That bodes well for today’s attempt as Keith Dalgleish’s charge has won four of only six starts at this venue and is back on a winning mark.

8.30

Peckinpah went close over 1m6f at Salisbury last time but Prince Llyr won over track and trip before just failing to catch the winner at Goodwood and makes more appeal. International Law finished in front of Lord Torranaga when placed at Newcastle and Nibras Wish wasn’t beaten far when fourth here last month but CHAIRMAN POWER will likely prove a warm order. He placed at Kempton on his handicap debut and Sir Michael Stoute’s colt has plenty of scope for further progress.
