Capla Spirit never threatened at Bath last time but won a lower grade contest over track and trip before that and is 5lb higher on his return. Victory Rose is also upped in class after scoring here a week ago and carries a penalty but BALTIC STATE looks worth sticking with. He made all over course and distance at the start of the month with Dana Forever back in third and is taken to confirm running and go in again. Dynamo Walt is back on a winning mark and may prove best of the rest.

ISLE OF MAY has to be forgiven a below par effort when failing to land the odds at Kempton. But the Gosden filly earned an official rating of 82 on earlier placed efforts at Newmarket and Ascot and she gets another chance in this company. Eastern Delight may do better dropping down in trip for this and Diamonds At Dusk also attempts 6f for the first time having placed over a mile at Chelmsford. Yellow Rose is a half-sister to a winner in France and makes most appeal of the newcomers.

Althumama Line showed some ability over track and trip without threatening the winner while Electric finished fourth at Kempton on her debut and should improve. Ita Cabo finished closer at Bath last time while Natural Instinct debuts on the all-weather having gone close at Ripon earlier. But this doesn’t look a strong maiden and SHALANEZ may prove good enough at the first time of asking as the Hannon filly is a 260,000gns half-sister to a couple of useful winners and is preferred to fellow newcomer Shesells Sanctuary.

Elzaam's Dream won over track and trip recently having finished runner-up here before that when in front of DECONSO (NAP). But the latter failed to get a clear run on that occasion and is fancied to turn the tables with normal luck in-running on today’s more favourable terms. Comeatchoo finished ahead of Qaaraat when second over the minimum trip here while Gunmaker should be sharper for a recent comeback having gone close at Newcastle early in the year.

Sashenka has won on Tapeta in the past and should be in the mix once again having won over today’s trip at Chelmsford last month. But RODRIGO DIAZ is the more progressive having landed a double over shorter trips on Polytrack and this extra distance will suit David Simcock’s charge if proving as effective on this surface. Al Kout can do better back on the all-weather today with his yard in flying form but Niblawi won over hurdles on his only start of last year and hasn’t raced on the Flat since 2017.

Unit of Assessment won over 1m3f at Kempton back in June but could only manage third off today’s mark last time. Durrell slips further down the weights still looking to win a handicap for the first time but KESARINA is preferred. The latter improved for the step up to today’s trip when going close at Beverley last time and Sir Michael Stoute’s filly has plenty of scope for further progress. Point In Time, Hooflepuff and Aquascape may all do better back on the all-weather today while a tongue-tie is fitted to Hibernian Warrior on his debut for a new yard having also been gelded.

Glowing For Gold ran well over track and trip a week ago despite carrying a penalty for an earlier success at Goodwood. Golden Crusader may do better over this longer trip having placed over a mile at Goodwood but SIDE SHOT is a half-brother to former Gosden inmate Shutter Speed, a Group 2 winner over today’s distance, and the Frankel colt gets the vote to come good in this. Maxine is another upped in trip after a better effort at Kempton and may prove best of the rest.

Carey Street finished in front of Traveller and Bug Boy when third over a shorter trip here while Mystic Dragon finished closer over 1m4f at the track last time. Plansina has been thereabouts lately and could figure while Eaglesglen may improve now handicapping but a chance is taken on WHATWOULDYOUKNOW. The latter is now back on a winning mark having landed a course and distance double in the past and a better effort at Beverley last month suggests a return to winning ways may be imminent.

Critical Thinking is penalised for scoring by a nose over track and trip last week but LIAM’S LASS was a more comfortable winner over course and distance on her latest start. She had previous Lingfield winner Seaforth well behind and can go close again. The latter is fitted with a hood today while Mr Jones And Me steps down in trip having won a claimer here and One Step Too Far is preferred on his handicap debut.
