A big field may make the draw a factor and OLYMPIC THEATRE seems to have been lucky in that respect. Slowly away at Newmarket, Michael Bell’s gelding still came through to have every chance inside the final 2f and would have finished closer with a clear run. Uncle Dick also missed the break at Bath so did well to finish second and he’s another who will know more today. Atalis Bay shaped as though an extra furlong wouldn’t come amiss when third over 5f here three weeks ago and Oisin Murphy rides the Martyn Meade newcomer Bluetooth, though she may need a bit further.

QUICKSTEP LADY (NAP) improves with each run and it will be a surprise if Andrew Balding’s nicely-bred filly doesn’t finally get her head in front today. The danger is probably Brunel's Boy, who wasn’t beaten far over this trip at Chepstow last time but has probably run his best race so far over 7f. Winter Halo hinted at ability in a couple of runs in June while Expedient has had wind surgery since his fourth at Kempton, though the champion prefers the selection.

This looks a very competitive sprint but it’s impossible to ignore the in-form Arcanada, who won over track and trip in June and was second here under Poppy Fielding off today’s mark last month. Second Collection has also been going well here but Spirit Of May seems best on the all-weather and Walk On Walter has an absence to overcome. A Sure Welcome and Magical Ride were just behind Arcanada three weeks ago but BELATED BREATH may be worth forgiving a poor performance that day as Hughie Morrison’s mare is starting to look very well treated on last year’s form and usually runs well on this track.

The three-year-old Wonderwork is speedy and was only collared close home at Haydock, though steps up a grade for this. Daschas, the only course and distance winner in the line-up, was given plenty to do here two weeks ago and looks to be coming to hand but a combination of first-time blinkers and a drop in class can see TOP BREEZE pick up the winning thread again as he is back on the same mark as when successful at Lingfield earlier in the year. Wild Edric probably needs some help from the handicapper.

Mick Channon sent out last year’s winner and Wightman, who has placed on Turf, surpassed expectations when third at Wolverhampton last month. Taawfan still looked green when beating an odds-on favourite here four weeks ago so there should be plenty more to come, though none of those behind have franked the form. ALIBABA is probably worth sticking with in his hat-trick bid as he’s proved tough to peg back in two starts this year and this track can suit front-runners. Winnetka will have stamina to prove but Mon Choix can give a good account if back on song.

Arabian Romance’s run here last month was too bad to be true and it would be no surprise to see the Godolphin filly bounce back. Angel Fairy was keeping on over track and trip on her second start while Jacinta De Vega is a debutante to note as she has a strong staying pedigree. Reality Of Dreams is also worth a market check but ROSE GREY can shrug off an absence since February when she made an eye-catching debut at Meydan over a slightly shorter distance – her yard is in cracking form.

Molinari and Water's Edge were engaged in the same Sandown race yesterday but both would have strong claims if diverted here. Eternal Prince is the least exposed and almost certainly still improving but JUNOESQUE seems to like it here and she ran well on her reappearance at Newmarket when finishing ahead of the disappointing Rotherwick. Willa and Rajguru are others to consider and Mr Top Hat ended a long losing run at Chepstow last month. Verify looks the pick of the remainder ahead of fellow course winner Limelighter.

Flashing Approach was staying on over 1m2f at Chepstow last time and is Mark Johnston’s only runner on the card tonight. Silvestre De Sousa rides and the three-year-old is sure to be popular but front-runner LYRICA’S LION looks a worthy opponent as he has a very good strike-rate, particularly on this quick ground, and looked to be coming to hand last time at Leicester. Uganda Heights may improve for the visor but none of the others make much appeal.
