Cabot Cliffs is 5lb better off than when beaten eight lengths by Duffle Coat in a Listed race at Wetherby but that may not be enough to turn the tables on Gordon Elliott’s so-far unbeaten raider. Historic Heart also won last time at Wetherby but is easily held on collateral form. Adagio made a winning start over timber at Warwick but the interesting one is HELL RED, who breezed to success at Chepstow and has nothing to fear from Billy The Squid and Jersey Grey on that run. Balko Saint has shown promise but needs to find another gear.

Equus Secretus ran well here at the start of the year and won a three-runner race at Huntingdon later. Arthur's Gift is back on a decent mark and is another to consider if fully primed. Lamanver Pippin remains unexposed and his third in the National Hunt Chase here in March may be the best form on offer but PETITE POWER won an amateurs’ race under Liam Harrison over course and distance just over a year ago and Fergal O’Brien’s stout stayer was clearly in need of the run at Sedgefield last month. What A Moment is another with winning form at the track in similar company so any market support should be noted but Bermeo usually struggles in this grade. Kilfilum Cross will need to jump better than at Fakenham.

FUSIL RAFFLES had subsequent Uttoxeter winner Gumball well behind when making a winning start over the larger obstacles. He followed up over these fences last month and will be a warm order to complete the hat-trick. Quel Destin was a Grade 1 winner over hurdles and a recent victory on the Flat will have brought him to concert pitch. If his jumping stands up to the test, he is a danger. Eldorado Allen’s win at Newton Abbot hasn’t worked out, however, while Le Patriote had only two rivals at Market Rasen. Zarkareva has won at Sligo and Punchestown and gets all the allowances but she may find a couple of these too good.

French imports tend to do well in this traditionally-competitive Grade 3 and Paul Nicholls has won it twice in the last eight years, including with a five-year-old in 2014. Saint Sonnet ran in the Golden Miller here in March after winning at Catterick but finished behind Mister Fisher, though there should be little between the pair on today’s terms. Siruh Du Lac is potentially well treated and Al Dancer proved his well-being when beating a subsequent winner at Newton Abbot. Fidux is another recent winner while Happy Diva, though 8lb higher than when landing this 12 months ago, made a satisfactory reappearance at Wetherby. She is 6lb better off than when beaten a length-and-a-quarter by SIMPLY THE BETTS in a Grade 3 at The Festival last season but the sky could be limit for Harry Whittington’s gelding this term if he shows the expected further improvement.

Dell' Arca has rediscovered his best form lately but has not managed to win here in eight previous visits. Dandy Dan and On The Blind Side are better known as chasers nowadays but Mrs Milner is an improving mare who is likely to be suited by a further step up in trip. TEA CLIPPER (NAP) was well supported on his reappearance in a Grade 3 at Chepstow and supporters would always have been confident of collecting as he travelled strongly throughout and quickened clear in the closing stages. On that evidence, an 8lb rise is more than justified and he won over 3m between the flags as a four-year-old. Debestyman was second here last month so can’t be ignored while Golan Fortune ran well at Aintree last week and looks the pick of the remainder.

Cillin Leonard gave CAPTAIN TOM CAT an excellent ride from the front here last month and again takes off 7lb. His mount has been raised 6lb but he holds both Whatsupwithyou and Dagueneau and the runner-up Debestyman could give the form a boost in the previous race. Topofthecotswolds is rated 4lb lower than over fences and has won over hurdles this season. Kepagge is unbeaten under Rules but returns from a break and following wind surgery. Son Of Camas looked a nice prospect at this time last year and runs in his first handicap, as does Uttoxeter and Wincanton winner Shinobi, but Stimulating Song didn’t appear to stay when tried over this trip at Kempton in March.

The form of this mares’ Listed bumper is usually worth following and UCANAVER finished ahead of Allavina, who beat Martello Sky later, on debut with a subsequent hurdles winner in fourth. She had no trouble going one better at Fontwell last month and might be the one to beat. Jersey Lady beat Thursday’s Ludlow hurdles winner Shore Shanty when making a winning debut and Ishkhara Lady is now 2-2. Easy Kelso winner All Clenched Up and Aintree scorer Elle Est Belle also have bags of scope.
