Mal Boyle's Sunday stat attack

Stats guru Mal Boyle highlights three horses at Stratford this afternoon and another to watch on Monday.

RIPON

Three leading (popular) trainers have saddled one winner apiece via three meetings at Ripon this season, though it has taken each handler plenty of runners to achieve their respective successes.

1/25—Tim Easterby (level stake loss of 19 points) – 8 runners there today

1/17—Richard Fahey (loss of 14 points) – 4 runners

1/12—David O’Meara (loss of 2 points) – 2 runners

Last year’s corresponding Placepot dividend at Ripon: £127.20

Total record of the favourites at the meeting twelve months ago: 9 favourites – 4 winners – 2 placed – 3 unplaced

MARKET RASEN

Leading represented trainer during the last five meetings:

5 winners—Jonjo O’Neill (7/1, 7/1, 9/2, 5/2 & 7/2**) – 3 runners there today: Sigurd (3.30), I’dliketheoption (4.00) & Lost Legend (4.30)

Average Placepot dividend during the period: £209.86

Favourite & SP details: 36 races – 12 winning favourites – 35/36 won at a top price of 12/1

Last year’s corresponding Placepot dividend at Market Rasen: £172.50

Total record of the favourites at the meeting twelve months ago: 9 favourites – 4 winners – 1 placed – 4 unplaced

STRATFORD

Leading represented trainer during the last five meetings:

5 winners—Dan Skelton (12/1, 11/4, 11/4*, 11/8* & 10/11*) – 3 runners there today: Coroberee (2.10), Petrou (4.20) & Sand Blast (4.50)

Average Placepot dividend during the period: £209.86

Favourite & SP details:

34 races – 10 winning favourites – 30/34 won at a top price of 8/1

Last year’s corresponding Placepot dividend at Stratford: £115.00

Total record of the favourites at the meeting twelve months ago: 8 favourites – 4 winners – 3 placed – 1 unplaced

We can deduce that last year’s results were good for favourite backers at the three meetings:

Total favourites: 26

12 winners – 6 placed (exact science) – 8 unplaced

One to (potentially) look out for on Monday:

There have been a few ‘under the radar’ trainers that have excelled in recent times, but none more so than Caroline Fryer whose last four winners have won.

It’s worth noting that four of her previous ten raiders had snared gold, offering a level stake aggregate profit of 37 points into the bargain.

Caroline has one horse entered tomorrow at Towcester and if course and distance winner Riddlestown is given the green light, the four time course winner would be worth a saver at the very least.
