News of the entries for day one of the Dante Meeting at York

Henry Candy's popular veteran Group-race runner Limato is among 16 acceptors for the Duke of York Clipper Logistics Stakes at York on Wednesday.

A winner at the top level during a glittering career, the seven-year-old has a 5lb penalty for a Group Two success in the Challenge Stakes at Newmarket in October.

David O'Meara's Suedois, who was runner-up in this race in 2016 and second to Limato in that year's July Cup, is the oldest horse in the list at the age of eight. Brando, who chased home Harry Angel 12 months ago, is one of three possibles from Kevin Ryan's stable along with Hey Jonesy and Major Jumbo.

Others include Andrew Balding's Donjuan Triumphant, James Tate's Invincible Army and Snazzy Jazzy for Clive Cox. Fozzy Stack's Son Of Rest and Johnny Murtagh's Urban Beat are the two Irish representatives.

John Gosden has won the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes five times in the last eight years and has two impeccably-bred fillies in a list of 14 entries for the Group Three contest.

The Newmarket handler can call on Entitle, a half-sister to the brilliant Enable, and Sparkle Roll, a half-sister to the 2017 Derby hero Wings Of Eagles. Both hold entries in the Investec Oaks.

William Haggas was victorious last year with Give And Take to strike and this time has once-raced winner Frankellina and Rainbow Heart, who holds an entry in Sunday's French 1000 Guineas.

Saeed bin Suroor can choose from Dubai Blue and Swift Rose, while Aidan O'Brien supplies the Irish interest with Listed scorer Peach Tree and Fire Fly.
