Landofhopeandglory bids to get his career over fences back on track in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Kilbegnet Novice Chase at Roscommon on Monday.
The son of High Chaparral was one of the leading juvenile hurdlers in Ireland last season, winning his first three starts before going on to finish fifth in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham and second in the Champion Four Year Old Hurdle at Punchestown.
He was fourth on his chasing debut at Roscommon in June, but raised his game to get off the mark at Kilbeggan and was still in contention when falling two fences from the finish in a Grade Three novices' chase at the Galway Festival.
O'Brien said: "He seems in good form at home.
"Obviously he fell the last day, but he was still going well at the time and we've been happy with him since.
"We're hoping for a good run."
Landofhopeandglory faces six rivals in the extended two-mile Grade Three.
Henry de Bromhead's mare Montana Belle turns out just a week after impressing on her chasing debut at Galway, while the Charles Byrnes-trained trio of Alto Esqua, Rock On Fruity and Rosie Alice were all winners last time out.
Alan Fleming's Killarney scorer Product Of Love and Denis Hogan-trained veteran Inis Meain complete the line-up.
