Trainer Alan King eyes Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival with Lisp

Alan King is leaning towards making the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle the target for Lisp at the Cheltenham Festival.

Although the Barbury Castle handler will give the four-year-old an entry in the JCB Triumph Hurdle, he believes the Grade Three prize on March 14 is a more suitable aim.

Sky Bet make Lisp a 20/1 shot for the handicap contest on the Wednesday of the Festival.

Since suffering defeat on his hurdling debut, the former Charlie Hills-trained gelding has tasted victory at Plumpton and Fontwell.

King said: "The great thing now is that he has learned to settle from his first run.

"He won well at Plumpton and I know the other day at Fontwell he was 1/6, but it was on ground he would have hated. I like the way he settled and did the job.

"He is 130 at the moment and I will probably give him another run. He is likely to be one for the Fred Winter, but he will have an entry in the Triumph Hurdle as well."
