James Fanshawe and Daniel Muscutt combined for a two-year-old double at Kempton Park on Monday

The six-race card at the Sunbury-on-Thames venue opened with two confined maidens for newcomers sponsored by EBF and Unibet,

Tikka got the ball rolling in the opening fillies' contest, winning by an impressive three lengths and one and a half lengths at 11/2.

A 30,000 euro yearling purchase out of a winner in France, Tikka was prominent early before quickening clear of her rivals inside the final furlong to collect in taking fashion.

The Newmarket handler's afternoon got even better half an hour later when Tredegar Square (16/1) repeated the feat for owner's Jan and Peter Hopper whose familiar silks have been carried by the likes of Zidane and Firenze.

Tredegar Square, a half-brother to useful sprinter Heathcliff among others, was following in the steps of Group 2 winner Amiloc who won this maiden in 2024.

Like his stablemate, Tredegar Square was always to the fore and overcame his inexperience to win by two and a quarter lengths.

The Hoppers were on hand to watch their homebred make his debut and told Racing TV: "It's a big surprise to be honest. We thought he'd run well but not that well.

"At home he shows a really positive attitude, he wants to be up there and Dan said as they came out of the gates he said 'I'm not hanging around here, I want to be up with them'; just amazed us all really, it's great.

"He's not a very fashionable sire [Land Force] and we thought we'd persevere with him. Isola Verde has been a wonderful mother. She's a daughter of Firenze who is a daughter of our original mare. This mare is wonderful, she's 17 years old now and she's got a Bated Breath yearling.

"It's nice to see the colours back in the winner's enclosure. We've got five [horses] at the moment, three of them are in partnership and two of our own."
