Italian St Leger aim for Flymetothestars

Flymetothestars will be sent on his travels again for a tilt at next month's Italian St Leger.

The Sir Mark Prescott-trained four-year-old is being lined up to make his final turf start of the campaign in the Group Three contest at San Siro.

Although the son of Sea The Stars finished a well held fourth last time out in the same grade at Chantilly, connections of this year's Ebor runner-up believe that effort can be ignored.

Tim Palin, racing manager for owners Middleham Park Racing, said: "I think what went wrong, and even Sir Mark would admit it, was we went back to the well a little bit too quick.

"He went into the race fit and well and came out sound, but he was showing signs of being a little bit tired. We will freshen him up now and he will probably have one more run on the turf in the Italian St Leger next month. It gives us a good few weeks between races to nicely freshen him up.

"If you've got a horse that likes a bit of cut in the ground, you can virtually guarantee easy ground in either France or Italy at this time of year.

"After that we will make a plan, which will end with an outing in the marathon event on All-Weather Finals Day at Lingfield."
