ASTRACORNUS - 16:10 Newmarket (NAP)
King Of Berkshire is ahead of the handicapper under the 6lb penalty and seems sure to be popular 10 days on from his Windsor win but this does look a better race and there's merit in taking him on with ASTRACORNUS. Trained by David Menuisier, the son of Golden Horn tackles 12 furlongs for the first time here having won over a mile and a quarter at Nottingham in June. He's produced two creditable efforts in defeat since then and looks well worth another chance off the same mark as when fourth of 13 at Goodwood last time, that race having produced multiple subsequent winners.
ANOTHER HIGH FIVE - 15:24 Perth
ANOTHER HIGH FIVE has zero chase experience to speak of but smacks of a horse who his connections will do well with in this sphere. Placed in a point-to-point, he's gradually improved since going hurdling last autumn and he was staying on to finish fifth (of 24) in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown when last seen in April (replay below in full). The six-year-old chestnut can run off a lower mark back in the UK and should really appreciate stepping up to three miles for the first time.

THUNDER GODDESS - 16:27 Pontefract
It was hard not to be impressed by THUNDER GODDESS who travelled quite well before striding clear - once getting the message - to score going away over 10 furlongs here at Pontefract last week. She's 2lb well-in under the 6lb penalty picked up for that victory and Charlie Tucker (claiming 7lb) takes over from Jason Watson in the saddle. Andrew Balding's filly is bred to cope well with this step up in trip (related to stayers and hurdle winners) and while her price isn't going to be particularly juicy, there really should be few excuses as she looks to complete the double.
GOT THE BOOTY - 19:30 Southwell
GOT THE BOOTY's stable debut effort at Kempton earlier in the month was hardly what you'd call a sparkling success but she was awkward from the stalls and ended up being beaten just over two lengths in fifth so it wasn't as bad as first meets the eye. It was also her first run since the middle of June so may have served a purpose in sharpening her back up a little. The handicapper has eased Clive Cox's recruit 2lb in the ratings and her revised mark of 68 looks quite handy based on the pick of her efforts for previous handler Tom Ward, including a neck second over six furlongs at this track. The daughter of Hello Youmzain possesses plenty of early speed and could be well suited by the minimum trip on this surface.
