Ian Ogg provides Monday's selections from around the tracks and heads to Southwell for the day's Nap.
Monday selections
LA HIGUERA - 16:27 Southwell (NAP)
A head separated LA HIGUERA and Moveonbuy at Wetherby and there's little between them on the revised terms but the former's forward style of racing may be better suited to this venue and he can confirm the form. He wasn't winning out of turn having finished third behind the progressive Bollin Thou and second to a useful Irish runner at Haydock and there could well be more to come after only seven starts over hurdles.
MADARA - 15:07 Kempton
Dan Skelton sends a strong team south from his Warwickshire base and should collect a few more pennies towards his title challenge. It wouldn't be surprising to learn this race was a medium target for MADARA who caught the eye of the Wetherby stewards on his seasonal reappearance over two miles. He's shown good form for Skelton at around this trip and although this is no 'gimme' and he's no more than fairly handicapped, the seven-year-old retains the potential to rate higher given the promise he showed in his first season in the UK and can gain a first success for the stable.
MARKET HOUSE - 19:30 Wolverhampton
MARKET HOUSE has been off for almost two months but it's still reasonable to expect him to step up on the form of his last run, his first since a wind operation. It came over nine and a half furlongs here and the form looks solid with the first and third winning three times between them since but more pertinently Market House is back over a more suitable trip with his three career wins coming over around 12 furlongs. He was beaten under a length on his sole run at this distance and should find this test more to his liking.
