CRAZEE ICON - 15:33 Windsor (NAP)
CRAZEE ICON can capitalise on the drop in grade and step up in trip and open her account. Two of the three renewals have been won by the top-weight and all three winners were favourite and it wouldn't be a surprise to see Crazee Icon tick both boxes after doing her best work at the finish - not for the first time - over seven on her seasonal bow. This track should also suit her come from behind style more than Newmarket where she returned a beaten favourite in a better race last month.
SHADOW KING - 14:00 Kempton
There are mixed messages for the form of the Newmarket novice in which SHADOW KING made his debut but it's not worked out too badly at this early stage of the season and Shadow King shaped well enough in last. He was easy to back on the day and bred for further than the minimum and normal improvement for the experience can see him open his account now stepped up in trip, providing, of course, there aren't any superstars lurking among the newcomers.
TONY JOE - 14:18 Fakenham
There may be more to come from Can U Feel It over this new trip at a course his trainer enjoys plenty of success at but preference is for handicap newcomer TONY JOE. Aside from the form of his yard, the main plus point is his good bumper form which saw him beat the 132 rated Get On George. He hasn't achieved much over hurdles to date but the return to better ground, a wind operation and a low mark could all help this close relation to the smart Ahoy Senor show himself in a better light.
CONTINUANCE - 17:00 Warwick
This is a fair race and form figures of 2, 2, 3 are a concern but there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the attitude of CONTINUANCE and perhaps he can enjoy his day in the sun. At Sandown last time he had Hot Fuss back in fourth and prior to that he pushed the very promising Fortune De Mer close at Cheltenham with Aintree winner Melon back in third. The handicapper would have been within their rights to bump his mark up in light of those exploits but he's actually 1 lb lower than when last out and can capitalise.
MALI STAR - 17:10 Bath
Bath can be a specialist's track so it was encouraging to see MALI STAR run so well here last time, although less so for those who backed the 11/4 favourite and had to endure him finding all sorts of trouble, failing to extricate himself until the race was over. With that run to sharpen him up and able to race from the same rating, Mali Star has an obvious chance granted better fortune.
SUDDENLY I SEE - 17:25 Beverley
Not too many of these have revealed their hand which is a concern given SUDDENLY I SEE has been bumped up by 7 lb but he is taken to trump his rivals and confirm the impression he made at Musselburgh. He had an upwardly mobile rival back in second that day (favourite after winning his own handicap debut) but won unchallenged and although he has to prove he can handle this different course and underfoot conditions, Suddenly I See is expected to prove up to the task and deny David O'Meara a fourth success in the race in six renewals.
