Racing weather latest: Inspections and abandoned meetings following heavy rain

Keep up to date with all the latest racing inspections and abandoned meetings following the heavy rain up and down the country.

Tuesday's meetings at Catterick and Leicester are both subject to morning inspections due to the threat of further rain.

Conditions at Catterick were described as heavy on Monday morning after a combined total of 30 millimetres of rain fell at the North Yorkshire venue on Saturday night and Sunday.

Although Tuesday is due to be predominantly dry, further rain could fall on Monday - prompting course officials to announce a precautionary inspection for 8am on raceday morning.

It is a similar story at Leicester, with the ground again described as heavy.

The forecast for Monday is for further rain during the day followed by a dry night and dry weather on Tuesday morning, before possible showers during Tuesday afternoon.

Clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson has called a precautionary inspection for 7.30am.

The inspection news follows the abandonment of racing at Pontefract on Monday due to a waterlogged track.
