Fran Berry has two bets for this evening's card at Dundalk with a course specialist fancied to resume winning ways.
There’s a good card at Dundalk this evening with the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cooley Fillies Stakes a fascinating Listed race at 5.30. It’s a watching brief for me there but I am with BRINJAL in the BetVictor Casino Handicap half-an-hour later.
She’s been expensive to follow but has had valid excuses with the draw of late. She was out in 14 over 10 furlongs here last time when beaten less than two lengths into third and the time before, over this evening’s trip, had to be dropped right out from 17.
She couldn’t get into it that day but was still beaten just two-and-a-half lengths and with a good box in three here is definitely worth one more chance. She makes each-way appeal.
So does WILD SHOT in the Follow BetVictor Racing On Twitter Handicap at 6.30.
He loves this track, having won here five times, and his last run at the Curragh is easily forgiven as it was on desperate ground.
He was quite eye-catching here the start before and the key to this horse is when he drops in grade to a 0-65 as he does here. His last winning mark was 61 in January of this year and back down to 63, he can go close from a good draw in four.
