Michael Dods' well-regarded Arapaho Gold maintained his unblemished record with victory in York's Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Gimcrack Stakes.
Taking his record to a perfect four from four after wins at Thirsk (twice) and Newbury, the Doug Graham-owned juvenile was providing a first career success in the Group 2 six-furlong feature for local handler Dods, who was full of emotion after his gelded son of Bayside Boy stayed on strongly to beat Final Objective (18/1) by three-quarters of a length.
It wasn't all plain sailing for Connor Beasley's mount, who briefly had to wait for a gap to open up just over a furlong out, but once in the clear he motored to the front and stuck to his task when challenged deep in the contest.
Hell Of A Spin ran well for third at 18/1 while the disappointment of the race was Aidan O'Brien's 13/8 favourite Marco Polo who finished out of the frame.
"Some horse, isn't he?"

Dods said on ITV Racing: "I think Connor [Beasley] would have liked to have gone a bit sooner but obviously he had to sit and wait. He's shown his ability, some horse. Upwards and forwards now hopefully.
"To win here is everything really, the whole family is here, the owner is local.
"This horse is unbelievable, he wasn't an expensive purchase, and I think he'll improve and I think he'll get another furlong. He's very exciting. He's in the Mill Reef, that will probably be his next run and that will be the end of the season and then we'll have to have a rethink."

"To do what he did at Newbury surprised me but today he was a totally different horse. He switched off lovely but travelled nicely, once I switched him and pulled him out, it took him a couple of strides to actually use his full stride but once he hit top gear he gave me a nice feel.
"He's a big, tall horse and even next year once he fills into his frame I think that's when we're going to start to really start to hope and pray."
