Tom George eyeing Kempton prize with Double Shuffle

Double Shuffle will attempt to continue Tom George's fine record in the 888Sport Handicap Chase at Kempton.

The Slad trainer has lifted the three-mile prize twice with Nacarat, in 2009 and 2012, while Double Shuffle himself was runner-up in 2017.

The nine-year-old is a course specialist at the Sunbury venue, having won over the distance and finished second to Might Bite in the King George VI Chase in December 2017.

"It's been the plan for a bit," said George.

"He's in great form, he loves the track - and he'll love the better ground."

Double Shuffle was last seen finishing fifth to Clan Des Obeaux in this season's King George.

His trainer believes he has progressed since his previous attempt at Saturday's race.

George added: "He was second in it two years ago off a 5lb lower mark, but he's probably improved a bit since.

"This has been the target again for a while, so I hope he'll run well."
