WATCH: Defi Du Seuil - Anniversary 4-Y-O Novices' Hurdle

Superstar juvenile Defi Du Seuil made it a perfect seven over hurdles with victory on the opening day of the meeting in 2017. He was 4/11 favourite and didn't need to improve on his Triumph Hurdle form to follow up, making quite hard work of beating Divin Bere by a length and a half.

WATCH: Tea For Two - Betway Bowl

A famous Grade One victory for jockey Lizzie Kelly as her pride and joy Tea For Two just got the better of Cue Card in a tremendous finish. The runner-up wasn't at his very best but the winner was extremely game and they came 15 lengths clear of Smad Place in third.

WATCH: Fox Norton - Melling Chase

Colin Tizzard has enjoyed loads of Aintree success over the years and Fox Norton really came to life with the sun on his back. This was the gelding's finest performance in terms of ratings but he did go on to claim more Grade One glory at Punchestown later in the month before completing a nice hat-trick of wins in the Shloer Chase on his seasonal return. That was his most recent victory.
