Alfred Richardson did it very easily on his latest visit to Newcastle and must have every chance of following up on his return to Gosforth Park.

Since opening his account for the year at Wetherby in June, the John Davies-trained four-year-old has run some fine races in defeat, most notably finishing third in the lucrative final of the Straight-Mile Series at Redcar.

Switching back to the all-weather for the first time since March 2017 a shade over three weeks ago, Alfred Richardson was held up towards the rear of the field after a tardy start, but sliced through the field before pulling clear without being asked for maximum effort.

The handicapper has handed him an 8lb rise in the weights - but with just three all-weather runs under his belt, he is very much unexposed, and the sunracing.co.uk Handicap looks a good opportunity for him to add to his tally.

Arms Of The Angel might be able to make it third time lucky in the Ladbrokes Home Of Odds Boost Novice Auction Stakes.

The daughter of Jukebox Jury caught the eye making significant late headway after blowing the start on her debut here a month ago. It is testament to her ability that in the end she was beaten only a length into third place.

It was a similar story on her second start at Bath, where she again got off to a slow start before boxing on to finish fifth.

She is clearly no star - but this race will not take much winning, and if she can break on terms she looks sure to make her presence felt.

Twilight has enjoyed a fine season on turf and can continue her excellent run of form in the Ladbrokes Home Of The Odds Boost Fillies' Handicap.

Tim Easterby's filly was rated just 50 when opening her account at Catterick in early August. But subsequent triumphs at Leicester, Hamilton and then back at Leicester again have seen her climb to a mark of 73.

She is 3lb lower on the all-weather - and while she was disappointing here in early September, that effort is easily forgiven because it came just three days after the first of her Leicester wins.

Twilight comes into her latest assignment suitably fresh after a month off the track, and should prove hard to beat.

One of last season's leading novice hurdles Kalashnikov is the star attraction at Warwick.

He has been declared in the £50 Risk Free On Racing With Smarkets Novices' Chase and a clear round should see him oblige given he is already one of the favourites for the Arkle in March.

He managed to win the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury before going down narrowly to Summerville Boy in the Supreme at Cheltenham.

Given his size chasing was always likely to be his game and he looks one of the most exciting prospects in the game.

Mistiroc is an interesting recruit to the jumping game, and should make a winning start in the Weatherbys Racing Bank Novices' Hurdle at Hexham.

He has gone hurdling late in life as a seven-year-old but even despite a winless season on the Flat he is still rated 92 in that sphere which gives him a distinct class edge.

He finished third in the John Smith's Cup last year.

Mon Port suffered an expensive defeat three weeks ago, but can reward those that keep the faith in the JEB Construction Conditional Jockeys' Novices' Hurdle at Fontwell.
