Free Irish racing betting tips: Preview & selections for Dundalk

Top Irish expert Fran Berry was among the winners at Dunalk on Friday and he has two bets for today's card at the Curragh.

With 600,000 euros on offer in prize-money it’s no surprise to see an ultra competitive renewal of the Friends Of The Curragh Irish Cesarewitch with a host of leading Flat and Jumps yards represented.

I’m interested in LOT OF JOY for the Willie Mullins team. Danny Tudhope has been booked to ride the former Swedish St Leger winner who has only had one run in Ireland.

That came in a big amateur riders’ handicap at Galway and she ran a super race to finish third, looking to get tired inside the final furlong.

Connections presumably saw enough there to suggest she can be competitive in this from only a pound higher mark and she’s one of the more unexposed runners in the field.

This is the first year stalls have been used for the race and she’s posted wide. Time will tell how big a negative that might be but given the likely strong pace hopefully she can slot in and build on that promising debut for the Mullins team.

My other bet on the card is HIBERNIA OPPOSITUS in the closing maiden.

The son of Australia shaped well on debut at Dundalk in March but was off the track until returning over course-and-distance last month.

He again showed plenty there to finish fourth and I’d expect him to improve for the outing. He’ll appreciate the ease in the ground today, it’s the first time he’s had it, and we haven’t seen the best of him yet.
