Recommended Bets, June 21

1pt e.w Prose in the 4.10 at Leopardstown at 7/1

2pts e.w Landing Zone in the 4.40 at Leopardstown at 11/2

We should be in for another informative afternoon at Leopardsown today with four maidens full of interesting runners before the feature Irish Stallion Farms EBF Blue Wind Stakes at 1715.

One Voice heads the betting for the Group-Three contest following her narrow defeat at Navan recently and with the fourth home that day, Passion, running well at Royal Ascot last week, that form certainly has a strong look to it.

However, she is one of a number of promising fillies in here with Yaxeni reappearing having won her sole start as a two-year-old at Cork. She is open to any amount of improvement, similarly Amma Grace who is beautifully bred and beat a smart filly in Roca Roma at this track back in October.

The form of the Dermot Weld stable is a slight concern, though, and Snow could be the one having taken a big step forward when breaking her duck at the Curragh on Irish 1000 Guineas day. This daughter of Galileo boasts a typically impressive pedigree and she could develop into a very good filly in time.

With so many promising types on show, it is a race to watch with interest but I'll look elsewhere for a bet and have two selections earlier on card, starting with Prose in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at 1610.

Aidan O'Brien's filly has had two starts now and having shaped with encouragement at Dundalk in September, I thought she took a nice step forward when running seventh here just under two weeks ago.

She was pushed wide throughout that day but still ran a race full of promise until getting a little tired in the closing stages when not knocked about by Wayne Lordan.

She has another wide draw to contend with this afternoon but I'd expect her to be much more streetwise this time around and, crucially, her two main market rivals are drawn out wide, too.

One of them is Brinjal who just finished ahead of Prose last time, but she enjoyed a better run through the race that day and I'm not sure she's progressing to the same degree that Prose is, while market leader Epona Plays could find herself in trouble if not breaking better than she has done so far.

Her form is hard to knock but, as with Brinjal, I'm not sure she has the same scope for improvement that Prose does and I'm happy to chance the O'Brien filly each-way at 7/1.

30 minutes later, Sky Bet are paying five places on the Leopardstown Handicap and Landing Zone rates a knocking each-way bet at 11/2.

The four-year-old drops into 0-65 company today having caught the eye when finishing strongly for seventh in a stronger race here seven days ago.

Sheila Lavery has taken her time with this son of Elzaam, but he ran third in a warm maiden here just over a year ago and though his form tailed off subsequently, there was lots to like about last week's comeback run.

With the stable saddling a winner at Limerick a few days ago and this good ground expected to suit better than the rattling quick ground he faced last week, Landing Zone ticks plenty of boxes and should run a massive race.

Take the five places each-way for extra insurance and hope jockey Robbie Colgan can make good use of his low draw.
