Penny Out is worth backing at double-figure prices at Limerick this afternoon - check out Fran Berry's latest preview and tips.
We kick off the week with a relatively low-key meeting at Limerick and the first of three selections runs in the opening Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden.
EQUILOVE wasn't knocked about when third on debut at Fairyhouse two weeks ago but it was a good start to her career and, given how the yard's runners are going at the minute, she could take a bit of beating here.
Her danger in the betting Inner Beauty, looks a bit of a short runner maybe and I'm not convinced the extra trip on offer will suit her. Limerick is a track where experience does count for a lot so I'll also happily oppose Ger Lyons' newcomer Amber Kite.
There's a few that could go well in the second race but it's hard to take on Giorgio Vasari with any confidence so I'll give it a miss. Aidan O'Brien's horse looked sharp at Fairyhouse and is likely to have improved.
JM BARRIE is worth an each-way bet in division two of the It's Good To Be Back At Limerick Handicap. He's lightly raced and is yet to get off the mark but ran with promise at Dundalk and shaped very well here at Limerick just 12 days ago.
That was six and a half furlongs and he travelled well into the straight. He may have just needed the run and with a bit of improvement he could take advantage of a good draw in stall two. He's top weight now but the race represents a slight dip in grade from the 0-70 he contested last time.
I'll add one more to the staking plan in the shape of PENNY OUT in the Patrickwell Maiden over a mile and a half.
O'Brien's four-year-old Galileo colt Great House will probably be hard to beat but she's an interesting maiden herself and has won here over hurdles.
She really caught the eye over course and distance at the last meeting, stuck down on the inner all the way, and only got out at the furlong pole when it was too late. She finished well in the end and given the ground she lost and manner in which she appeared to be travelling, she surely has more to offer on the bare form.
Perhaps handicaps will be her thing, or she might not be good enough, but she's worth a small interest at the current prices (10/1 with Hills).
