Glen Forsa set to run in Racing Post Arkle

A tilt at the Racing Post Arkle Trophy is the preferred option for Glen Forsa at the Cheltenham Festival.

The Mick Channon-trained seven-year-old, who also holds an entry in the JLT Novices' Chase, advertised his claims for a tilt at the two-mile Grade One prize - for which he is 7/1 (non-runner/no bet) with Sky Bet - with an emphatic defeat of Kalashnikov in the rearranged Kingmaker Novices' Chase at Sandown on Friday.

Jack Channon, assistant to his father, said: "I'd say the Arkle has to be the favourite at the moment, but all options are still open.

"I'm not going to make a concrete decision and look silly. He has come out of the race at Sandown on Friday really well and has been in the paddock bucking and kicking.

"The more and more I look at it, it was a hugely-impressive performance. Let's hope he can repeat it at the Cheltenham Festival."
