Richard Fahey hopes to send a strong team to Saturday’s replacement race for the abandoned Ayr Gold Cup – but Toscanini may not be among them.
He was among eight intended runners for the trainer in Scotland but now has the option of heading to France on Sunday rather than the 32 Red-sponsored contest at Haydock 24 hours earlier.
The trainer told sportinglife.com: "Entries are made on Tuesday and we have still to decide then but Toscanini may go for the Foret at Chantilly instead. We’ll see.
"Of my original Ayr team Kimberella, Mr Lupton, Don’t Touch, Eastern Impact, Rene Mathis and Growl will all be entered on Saturday. So will Stamp Hill but I fear he might struggle to get in."
The Haydock race will have a maximum field of 17 runners compared to the 25 starters at Ayr who lost all three days of their Western Meeting owing to waterlogging.
