Felix de Giles in hospital after Lyon Parilly fall

Felix de Giles is in hospital in France after suffering a facial injury in a horror fall at Lyon Parilly on Sunday.

The jump jockey was hurt following the spill from Vicomte Du Seuil in a steeplechase over two and a half miles, with the horse paddling at the fence and barely getting over it, before somersaulting and catapulting De Giles into the ground as horses followed behind.

Vicomte Du Seuil's trainer Emmanuel Clayeux said: "He has a big injury on his face. I'm going to visit him in hospital tomorrow morning.

"He is likely to remain in hospital for a few days."
