Enable long odds-on for Yorkshire Oaks glory

Enable will face a maximum of eight rivals in Thursday's Darley Yorkshire Oaks and is 2/7 to extend her fantastic winning run.

John Gosden's dual Oaks heroine stepped up to beat the boys in brilliant style in last month's King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot and will undoubtedly be a warm order to clinch her fourth Group One success of the season en-route to a potential tilt at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

She can be backed at 5/4 to provide Gosden with a second Arc victory following Golden Horn's memorable win a couple of years ago.

The trainer, who has won the Yorkshire Oaks twice before with Dar Re Mi (2009) and The Fugue (2013), has also confirmed Journey and Coronet.

He said: "Enable is happy and well. We always wanted to go to this race. It was meant to be Irish Oaks to Yorkshire Oaks.

"She took the Irish Oaks so much in her stride that then the King George came into play. This was part of the original plan and hopefully we’ll be there."

Sir Michael Stoute has saddled a joint-record nine previous winners of the prestigious York contest and could call upon Abingdon and Queen's Trust. Aidan O'Brien's sole contender is Alluringly, who won the Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park on Wednesday evening.

Roger Varian's Pretty Polly Stakes heroine Nezwaah, Saeed bin Suroor's Natural Scenery and Turret Rocks from Jim Bolger's Irish yard make up the field.
