Main Edition set to run in Moyglare Stud Stakes

Connections of Albany Stakes winner Main Edition are leaning towards stepping her up to the top table for the first time in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday week.

The Mark Johnston-trained daughter of Zoffany is being lined up for the seven-furlong Group One after making her first start over the trip a winning one in the Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket last time out.

Charlie Johnston, son and assistant trainer, said: "I think her next most likely start will either be the Moyglare or the Rockfel.

"I don't think we are in a rush to come back to six furlongs with her and I think the idea is that we stay at seven now, although she might have an entry over a mile in the May Hill at Doncaster. I'd probably make the Moyglare favourite as her most likely next start and if she stays at home she is likely to go for the Rockfel.

"The way she won the Sweet Solera she looked to get every yard of the seven that day and there was cut in the ground, so we have no worries for autumn ground with her."

Plans remain fluid for stablemate Natalie's Joy after she suffered a setback in the build-up towards the Lowther Stakes at York.

The daughter of Lope De Vega left behind her no-show in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot when winning a Listed contest at Newbury on her most recent start.

Johnston said: "The plan was to go to the Lowther and looking at how it panned out she would have gone very close. Unfortunately she had a setback six or seven days beforehand. It will be just a case of seeing how long we get held up for and how she is over the next week as to what targets we go for.

"There is the Firth of Clyde at Ayr or a week later you have the Cheveley Park. Hopefully we will get her back on track, but at the same time we don't want to take any risks as we are hoping she is a Guineas filly next year."
