Connections of Cracksman have indicated they could be nearing a decision on the colt's participation in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Both trainer John Gosden and owner Anthony Oppenheimer have expressed doubts about the Frankel colt taking his place in the Chantilly line up on October 1, with the pair insisting Cracksman will really come into his own as a four-year-old.
Gosden has the current favourite for the race in four-time Group One winner Enable, who would be the expected mount of Frankie Dettori, and the Newmarket handler thinks the deliberation over plans for Cracksman could soon come to a conclusion.
He said: "I'm going to discuss the matter with Mr Oppenheimer as we said we would make our decision over the weekend."
Enable is the odds-on favourite for the Arc with most bookmakers while Cracksman is 5/1 with Sky Bet for the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot next month.
