The entries for the major autumn two-year-old races held at Newmarket were revealed on Tuesday afternoon.
With the merits of the big players well established, I thought I’d take a look at those entered who have yet to show their all or who haven’t even seen a racecourse so far.
BoyleSports Home Of Early Payout Rockfel Stakes (Group 2) - 7f - Friday 25th September - 63 entries
Highly promising first-time-out winners Lorraine (Timeform master rating 82P) and Spirited Gesture (90P) hold entries here for the Gosden/Juddmonte team. One assumes the Prestige Stakes will be the intended stepping stone for one of them into this race.
Gosden also has the promising Beguiled (79p) entered, who was noted as doing good late work into third on debut at Goodwood, though another furlong will likely suit her better sooner rather than later.
Roger Varian’s Asheyra (75p) shaped with promise when third behind Spirited Gesture on debut at Newmarket (July) and, as a Dark Angel daughter of the smart Punita Arora, should have a fair bit more improvement to come.
