Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster plan for So Sleek

The DFS Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster could be an end of season aim for So Sleek if she continues to please Luca Cumani.

The Lawman filly took six attempts to open her account but followed up her maiden victory at Lingfield in July by taking a well-contested Salisbury handicap on Monday from a mark of 78.

Cumani is hopeful that she will continue to progress and earn the right to try and pick up some valuable black type and has the Doncaster Group Two, a race he has won on five occasions, in mind.

"She came from last to first under Jamie Spencer in a steadily run race and is steadily going the right way," he told www.lucacumani.com.

"She did take a while to get there due to the slow pace and will have to continue to improve if she is to run in the likes of the Group Two DFS Park Hill Stakes at the end of the season."

Pleasant Surprise found only To Eternity too good in Listed company at Newmarket on Saturday and Cumani was more than happy with her performance.

"She ran a fantastic race to finish second in the Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Chalice Stakes, beating the group that she raced in and only going down to John Gosden’s To Eternity, who seemed to be advantaged by racing on the stand’s side on her own," he said.

"Pleasant Surprise can hopefully pick up a Listed race of her own at some point based on this evidence, so we will look for something similar next time out."

God Given was an impressive winner of the Listed Aphrodite Stakes last time and she is set to step up in class for the Group Three Prix Minerve at Deauville on Sunday.
