Cowell pair both earmarked in Temple Stakes

Robert Cowell expects to be double-handed in Saturday's Armstrong Aggregates Temple Stakes at Haydock with both Encore D'Or and Goldream set to run.

Both horses are at home on fast ground, which Cowell should get at the weekend, but jockey plans are still up in the air with Goldream's usual pilot, Martin Harley, in line to ride Quiet Reflection.

"We intend to run both. I spoke to the clerk of the course and he's pretty confident if there's no rain, the ground will be good to firm - that will suit us all perfectly," Cowell told At The Races.

"We're at the time of the year now when the few fast ground horses will enjoy the fast ground, but I don't think there's any rain genuinely forecast, though that can change.

"Essentially we're very keen to run both and the ground looks like it's perfect for both.

"Obviously Karl (Burke) might declare his filly (Quiet Reflection) in the hope some rain arrives and you can't blame him for doing that. Martin has a good ride there and would like to stay loyal to the filly.

"We would love to use Martin if we could, but it looks like we might have to find another jockey and we're in talks with the owners."
