Coral-Eclipse final field: Ombudsman odds-on after six stand ground

Ombudsman is the odds-on favourite for Saturday's Coral-Eclipse, in which Ryan Moore rides Delacroix.

A clearcut winner of the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, the four-year-old Ombudsman is 10/11 market leader with Paddy Power to add the Sandown Group One to his big-race haul under William Buick.

Ryan Moore has opted to stay loyal to beaten Derby favourite Delacroix, with Christophe Soumillon renewing his association with Camille Pissarro, the pair having teamed up to good effect at Longchamp last autumn.

Sosie (Maxime Guyon), Ruling Court (Oisin Murphy) and outsider Hotazhell (Shane Foley) complete the sextet for Saturday's 10-furlong contest.

The prevailing conditions had already ruled White Birch out of contention, while Almaqam, Anmaat, Stanhope Gardens and Expanded were also taken out at the final declaration stage on Thursday morning.
