Nicky Henderson, Jenkins:

"He was still awful that day he beat Bags Groove (at Newbury). He had been awful the whole way through. He couldn't jump a hurdle at home. He didn't jump one at Newbury and he sort of got away with it. He came to Kempton and was terrible, then he won at Ffos Las in the most appalling race you would see in your life and somehow he ended up rated 137. Where in the world he (the handicapper) got that from, I don't know. He is handicapped on his reputation from bumpers - it is nothing to do with what he achieved over hurdles. We will see because for some extraordinary reason he is a completely different horse this season - he wants to jump and wants to work. We start here as he has got to start somewhere."

Paul Nicholls, Old Guard and Amour De Nuit:

"Old Guard was running round last year in all those good races and was not quite good enough. He had a wind operation over the summer. He ran very well at Chepstow on his comeback, then he won at Kempton quite nicely, so he is back in form and not without a chance.

"A fast-run race will suit Amour De Nuit. He has been gaining valuable experience in novice hurdles and at 20/1 he is a big price."

Dan Skelton, Mohaayed:

"He will run off 10st and it is an unusual weight for a horse of that calibre to be running off. Normally they are running off a lot more. It changes the complexion of the race. Whatever weight he has got, he is primed. I'm not going to come out of the race and say he will improve. He isn't going to improve. It is a £100,000 handicap so they should be ready."

John Quinn, Project Bluebook:

"When four-year-olds are out of their novice year, it is definitely harder for them, but he progressed last season and I hope there is more to come from him. He is very versatile ground-wise. Not many horses want it too testing and a bit of nice jumping ground - good to soft or soft - would be ideal."

Seamus Mullins, Chesterfield:

"He is fresh and well, and the Greatwood was our primary pre-Christmas objective. It would have been nice to have a run beforehand but it wasn't to be. We bought the horse from John Ferguson last year, who was very open about his injury, so we spent last season nursing him back quietly, starting off small and building him up. We gave him a little break after that before taking him to Newbury in March, where he was second to a well-handicapped horse, and then he won at Aintree and Ayr."

Harry Fry, Misterton:

"He is a young horse going in the right direction. We know he stays further and Noel (Fehily) gave him a positive ride over two miles at Chepstow. A strongly-run race on Sunday will suit and his stamina will come in up the hill. Hopefully there is plenty of progress to be had yet."

Joseph O'Brien, Tigris River:

"He's had a break since winning the Galway Hurdle and it was always going to be the plan to bring him back for something like this. It will probably be tough for him off his mark, but he's already won a good pot. It will be interesting to see how he goes. He'll probably have to be a 160-rated horse to win, so it's a big step up for him."

Dan Skelton, North Hill Harvey:

"He brings course form to the table and we will find out where we are with him. If he can win there he is solid down the Arkle route and if he doesn't he might still be as with the opposition he is up against it doesn't look like it will be an ordinary race. He is hardy. I don't think he is a flashy horse, he is just a hardy galloper."

Nicky Henderson, River Wylde:

"He pleased me the other day on his first start over fences. He has been very good at home. He was a bit low over them to start with, but I thought he was great throughout the race at Uttoxeter and he will come on a lot for that."

Nicky Richards, Better Getalong:

"I think he's a good horse. We'll find out a bit about him. It's no good just going round the north at 2-1 on and mopping things up. We have to find out where we stand. Everything's been perfect since Ayr."

Nicky Henderson, Dame De Compagnie:

"Dame De Compagnie is a lovely filly. She won very easily at Uttoxeter recently, although it probably wasn't much of a race."

Colin Tizzard, Fox Norton:

"He had a racecourse gallop last Saturday. We've done plenty of work with him and we've been waiting for this race. He should be spot on. He looked magnificent around Wincanton, even though he only did a canter.

"If he carries on from where he was last spring he is a very good horse. I think he will stay down the two-mile route to start with. I think at a fast-run two miles they have to stay. He beat Un De Sceaux at Punchestown so we can't knock him at all. We will probably stay two miles until after the Tingle Creek."

Ruth Jefferson, Cloudy Dream:

"He's in good form at home, but it obviously wasn't the original plan. After Fox Norton and Special Tiara the rest are similarly rated and Special Tiara should set an honest gallop and give him something to aim at. Hopefully that will suit.

"He came out of Aintree really well. He wasn't beaten far and you can't be disappointed when you're only beaten half a length by a horse like Smad Place. We're happy with him so we'll give it a go."

Nicky Richards, Simply Ned:

"He's in grand fettle and I'm quite sure he'll run a lovely race. He's run some cracking races up to Christmas every year. Hopefully, he'll run another cracker on Sunday."

Patrick Mullins, Faugheen:

"We're counting down the minutes to Sunday. He had a short summer break as he was in training last year around Punchestown so we kept him going, but he's had two years off and is nine going on 10. We're a little bit apprehensive, but John Cobb, who rides him every day, feels he is back to where he is happy with him and he's ready to start.

"When he won the Irish Champion Hurdle he was extraordinary - when you look at what was behind him, Nichols Canyon, he's won eight Grade Ones and Arctic Fire has been placed in Champion Hurdles. If he comes back to that sort of form he'll be very hard to beat, but he's an older horse now and he's had two years off, so it's not realistic to expect a performance like that on Sunday.

"He's a completely different horse to Hurricane Fly. He was always ridden for speed, he was never going to win by 10 lengths as he was only ridden to win from the last hurdle, whereas that day at Leopardstown, Ruby (Walsh) let Faugheen go on from a mile out.

"Faugheen won a novice hurdle over three miles in heavy ground, but a lot of the really good horses can do that, Kauto Star was as good at two miles as he was at three and a quarter. He's very versatile, but a lot of the top-class ones are."

Patrick Mullins, Vroum Vroum Mag:

"Vroum Vroum Mag is very versatile. A lot of the time we pigeonhole horses, but she's won over two miles and three miles over both hurdles and fences.

"She finished lame after Punchestown, which was why she disappointed there, but my mother rides her every morning and is very happy with her. She is not going to be a pushover, she's a solid Grade One mare and Faugheen will have to be somewhere near his best to beat her.

"There's Jezki, another Champion Hurdle winner, too - it's a very competitive race and it will be hugely exciting. Hopefully we can get him there and, more importantly, he will be all right on Monday morning so we can work on from there."

JP McManus' racing manager Frank Berry, Jezki and Campeador:

"Jezki had a lovely win last time, he hasn't been in as good a form as he is for a while. He seems to be well at the minute so it's all systems go. Campeador has been unlucky with the two falls. It was nice to see him win last time. It's obviously a big step up in grade for him but we'll have an idea where to go afterwards."

Davy Russell, jockey of Presenting Percy:

"You'd have to be very impressed with him the first day. But, I rode the second horse the next day and he disappointed. I'm sure Pat Kelly will have him right, he does a great job with him."

Gordon Elliott, Shattered Love and Jury Duty:

"She was entitled to win the last day, but didn't jump great. Hopefully she'll be better next time."
