Carlo Biraghi has suffered a setback which has ruled him out of the JCB Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham next month.
The Galileo gelding had put himself in the picture for the juvenile championship by winning a 22-runner maiden hurdle at Punchestown on his jumps debut last month.
But trainer Fozzy Stack is now thinking of saving Carlo Biraghi for the Flat. He was a maiden winner at the Curragh last spring, and was beaten only nine and a quarter lengths when 10th to Latrobe in the Irish Derby.
"We've just had a bit of a hold-up with him. He needs a bit of time, so he's going to miss Cheltenham," said Stack.
"He'll be fine - but it's just not going to work in the time frame, unfortunately.
"We might gear him towards a Flat campaign."
