Main Edition likely to run in Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes

Main Edition could attempt to supplement her Royal Ascot gains in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket's July Festival.

The Mark Johnston-trained filly took her 100 per cent to three when gamely holding La Pelosa by a neck in the Group Three Albany Stakes at the Royal meeting.

Connections are now targeting the Group Two, formerly known as the Cherry Hinton Stakes, over the same trip of six furlongs on July 13.

"She went there with a lively chance because she'd been impressive before and she was certainly impressive at Ascot. She just kept going," said Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner, Saif Ali. "I imagine she'd go for the Cherry Hinton."
