In typical fashion for a modest Irish handicap there are a handful of horses who are in form in a big field.

Rathnaleen Girl was really impressive at Wexford a week ago when winning very easily by twelve lengths. She's the one they all have to beat if turning up in the same form.

Mullinavat won over fences three starts ago off a mark of 102, he looked a good thing on paper next time out as connections tried to exploit his handicap mark of 83 over hurdles.  He found one too good but a repetition of that run will see him go very close. Odds of 4/1 for a horse who is in rude health and well handicapped are fair.

The horse who looks overpriced is MR CHAMPERS. His stand out run was in a Leopardstown bumper late last year on decent ground.  That run alone is good enough to be very competitive here.

This year he has applied his trade mostly in maidens against far superior horses. There have been glimpses of promise in these runs but with nothing majorly eye catching.

Today he is running off a mark of 102 on his handicap debut and encounters decent racing ground for the first time this year.

I think that's a fair mark and he could easily outrun his odds of 20/1.
