The 0-100 handicap hurdle is the most competitive race on the card and doesn't look an easy puzzle to solve, however there may be a couple of horses worth a small interest.

Arkadios was running a big race and looking the winner two starts ago before falling - if he bounces back to this kind of form he should go very close. It was disconcerting how badly he drifted in the betting last time and he was subsequently reported to have broken a blood vessel.

A horse who was recently engaged but pulled out as a non runner is PENSION MADNESS.

There was a bit of money for the horse overnight which caught the eye, mainly due to the potential significance of the trainer change. This will be his first start for Johnny Farrelly since leaving the yard of Mark Usher.

He ran a really promising race at Newbury when finishing third in a novices' hurdle but never really went on from that effort.

This has resulted with him dropping down the weights and I think he's of interest today if dropped out and ridden with a bit of patience. The 15/2 is worth chancing.

Another who could surprise a few is FAUVE.

He's a horse who showed bits and pieces of form for Paul Webber a few years ago before changing hands to Richard Hawker.

The horse has had a 500-day break having shown nothing in a couple of starts for his current handler.

Hawker had a big-priced winner recently after a small lay-off and with Fauve having shown some decent form in the past he could be worth a speculative play at 40/1.
