San Benedeto really excelled over fences last season and begins his winter campaign over hurdles today.

He's very much the one to beat and I think he will prove to be just as good over hurdles. However, first time out over the smaller obstacles makes it tempting to lean towards his younger rival at the price of 9/2.

OPTIMUS PRIME is a horse I feel we haven't seen the best of yet. He's an impressive-looking beast and connections have toyed with different tactics since acquiring him from France. Dan Skelton's horses have held their form really well through the summer and I'm hoping Optimus Prime is reasonably forward and that his speed is decisive today.

He may not prove to be as good as some of his rivals in terms of official ratings but I think he could turn them over with conditions to suit.
