Racecard and free video form
TRENDS
9/10 - won no more than once over hurdles
8/10 - won a bumper and/or P2P
8/10 - yet to contest a Graded novice hurdle
8/10 - ran during previous month (December)
5/10 - sent off favourite
4/10 - trained by Nicky Henderson
BETTRENDS SELECTION: Rathhill
LAST YEAR’S WINNER: Summerville Boy
Nicky Henderson boasts a fine recent record in the Tolworth and impressive Newbury winner RATHHILL is fancied to provide the trainer with a fifth win in the race since 2011.
Irish point-to-point horses have a good record in this and he looked an exciting prospect on his Rules debut; he stands out on the trends.
Elixir De Nutz sets the form standard and is the obvious danger, despite the fact that he is a little more exposed than your average winner. That said, four of the last 10 winners were second-season novices and Colin Tizzard won it with Finian’s Oscar two years ago.
Of the others, Idee de Garde - who won a bumper for Nicky Richards before joining Dan Skelton – could outrun his odds following a promising debut behind Champagne Platinum.
Bettrends 1-2
1. RATHHILL
2. Elixir De Nutz
