The £50,000 Pick 7 jackpot was landed for the second successive Saturday after Author’s Dream won by a wide margin in the final leg.
The freezing weather has played havoc with the racing calendar over the past week but, as was the case last weekend, one Pick 7 player enjoyed a red-hot afternoon when going through the card at Lingfield.
It looked highly unlikely the jackpot would be won after 7/1 chances Constantino and Attain won the first two legs, but Dan Carter, from Wrexham, managed to find both of them, plus the next five shorter priced winners to complete the perfect seven from seven.
He was one of two players to find all seven winners, but collected the jackpot after getting closest to the Tie Breaker questions, which is a prediction of the winning distance in the first leg.
The correct distance was half a length, and Dan’s guess of a 'head' proved crucial.
