Alwasmiya put in a promising performance in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Bosra Sham' Fillies' Stakes

Alwasmiya put in a promising performance when powering away from the opposition in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Bosra Sham' Fillies' Stakes at Newmarket.

Simon Crisford's youngster had got off the mark at Nottingham on her second start and stepped up to take Listed honours in some style.

Robert Havlin had Alwasmiya (8/1) tucked in behind the pace-setting Izzy Bizu, before storming into the lead in the final furlong to register a three-length success. All Out was a neck behind Izzy Boru in third place.

Havlin said: "She is a nice filly. She has got a lot of natural speed and the pace of the race now that she has moved up in grade helped her find a nice rhythm.

"She travelled into the dip well and picked up out of it nicely. There was no fluke about it. I would keep her to six and see how she trains next year, but races like the Sandy Lane would be on the agenda next year."

Crisford said: "That was really nice. She travelled well and picked up nicely. She will go into Group-race company now and hopefully head towards Royal Ascot. The Commonwealth Cup is the dream.

"She had an entry in the Cheveley Park and has always shown plenty at home. We have just had to mind our way slightly. She came from the breeze-up sales and needed a little bit of time to adapt to training in Newmarket more than anything. She has progressed well and that is it for the year.

"I am absolutely delighted and thrilled for her owner Shaikh Duaji Al Khalifa who is from Bahrain. He was particularly taken at the breeze-ups and asked us to buy her."

Alwasmiya was given a quote of 33/1 for the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.

Consequences (2/1) made her experiences at a higher level count as she ran out a comfortable scorer in the Quy Mill Hotel & Spa Conditions Stakes.

Beaten in the Group Two Norfolk Stakes and a Listed contest in France after scoring at Catterick in the summer, the David O'Meara-trained juvenile was settled in behind as Rajar, wearing the Nick Bradley Racing colours like the winner, made the running.

It was just a matter of time before David Probert pressed the button and Consequences cruised past to collect by three and a half lengths from the early leader.

Probert said: "David O'Meara has always liked him. He has done things the wrong way round a couple of times with the choke out, but he seemed relaxed today and there was a good gallop.

"He's done that pretty smartly and he will improve over the winter. I think he looks like a proper sprinter."

Stuart Wisheart, a member of the winning syndicate, said: "He had been off for a while before he went to Chantilly - where it was probably too heavy - as he got injured in the Norfolk.

"He will probably be a good three-year project. The York race he ran in first time out was decent and the Norfolk is a Group Two and the ground too firm.

"That was the first time he tried six and he will now go away for the winter."
