NHL round-up: San Jose Sharks hammer Anaheim Ducks to lead series 3-0

The San Jose Sharks are one win away from the second round of the Stanley Cup play-offs after smashing the Anaheim Ducks 8-1.

The huge victory puts their Western Conference play-off series at 3-0 and places them on the verge of sweeping the first round of the post-season.

The Sharks pulled away with four goals in the second period, while goaltender Martin Jones made 46 saves over the course of the game.

Rickard Rakell managed Anaheim's only effort, in the first period, and the loss leaves them with a mountain to climb to remain in contention.

Elsewhere it was a night of fightbacks, with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche and New Jersey Devils recording their first wins of the post-season.
