NFL highlights: Tom Brady beats Aaron Rodgers in clash of the titans as the New England Patriots beat the Green Bay Packers

Tom Brady won the battle of the NFL icons as his New England Patriots beat Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers on Sunday night.

In just the second meeting between the two greatest quarterbacks of their time, Brady evened up the score at 1-1 as he led his side to a 31-17 victory over Rodgers' Packers at Gillette Stadium.

Five-time Super Bowl winner Brady is still playing at a superb level despite turning 41, and he showed it yet again with his 203rd regular season victory in his 260th start.

Brady had help from a superb defensive effort while Aaron Jones coughed up a costly fumble in the fourth quarter that cost the Packers dear.

Rodgers still made some fantastic throws that possibly only he cold make, but Brady proved his major talent is winning games and may have settled the argument over who's the best quarterback in the NFL - possibly of all time.

Brady also became the first player in NFL history to account for 80,000 total yards and his coach Bill Belichick, who has been the architect of all his success, paid tribute to his man after the game.

"It's unbelievable," Belichick said. "Tom's had a tremendous career, and I'm so fortunate that I've been able to coach him. He's earned it. Nobody has given him anything.

"You're talking about a lot of great, great, great quarterbacks, great players that he's ahead of. It's certainly a testament to him and the longevity and productivity in his great career. Hopefully, he just keeps stacking them up."
