The Jacksonville Jaguars have sacked offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and benched quarterback Blake Bortles after losing seven games in a row.
Sunday's defeat at the Buffalo Bills capped a sickening run of results for the Jaguars, who were among the market leaders for the Super Bowl before the start of the season.
Although their famed defence has also been at fault, it is offensive problems that have plagued them this term,with only four teams scoring fewer points.
Hackett has paid the price by losing his job, as has quarterback Bortles, with head coach Doug Marrone confirming Cody Kessler will start under centre against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
"I'm making this change to give us an opportunity to win a football game," Marrone said. "We're just not getting the production or the consistency that we needed in the passing game."
Bortles has long been a source of worry for a team that was three minutes away from making the Super Bowl last season, and he has been poor this season with just six touchdown passes along with six fumbles and seven interceptions.
Kessler may now have the rest of the season to try and make the job his own, but more likely the Jaguars will be keeping a close eye on the quarterbacks entering next year's draft.

Jacksonville's star running back Leonard Fournette will also miss Sunday's game against the Colts after being banned for a game for fighting during the game against Buffalo.
Both Fournette and the Bills' Shaq Lawson were ejected from the game for their scuffle on the sidelines, and the NFL has responded by handing out one-game bans.
