Final Leaderboard

-23 Xander Schauffele

-22 Gary Woodland

-18 Justin Thomas

-15 Marc Leishman

-15 Rory McIlory

Round four report

The American, who was tipped at 25/1 each way by Ben Coley, beat compatriot Gary Woodland by just one shot, having started the final day in Hawaii five shots adrift of the lead.

Despite opening the fourth round with a bogey, Schauffele quickly recovered, firing eight birdies and two eagles on his way to victory.

He finished with back-to-back birdies on the 17th and 18th holes to equal a record held by just four other players, and ended the tournament on 23 under overall.

Schauffele is now 40/1 with Sky Bet to win the US Masters in April

Woodland, who held a three-shot lead at the start of the day, carded a bogey-free round of 68, missing a chance on the final hole to force a playoff.

Rory McIlroy - making his debut at the event which consists only of PGA Tour winners from the previous calendar year - had started the final round in second, but shot a disappointing 72 to finish tied for fourth.

The Northern Irishman hit two birdies and a bogey, ending on 15 under overall alongside Dustin Johnson and Marc Leishman.

Justin Thomas finished the week in third following nine birdies in his final round.

Meanwhile, world number one Brooks Koepka shot his best round of the tournament, carding a four-under 69, but languished in 24th place.

Ian Poulter dropped to 18th place after firing a 71, while fellow Englishman Paul Casey shot the same to end in joint 16th.

Round three report

Gary Woodland holds a three-shot lead going into the final day of the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

The American fired a five-under 68 on the third day in Hawaii to keep his place at the top of the leaderboard, with Rory McIlroy taking sole possession of second place.

Woodland's one blemish came with a bogey on the par-four 12th, but he took hold of the lead after holing a 64-yard putt for eagle on the par-five 15th.

McIlroy - making his debut at the event which consists only of PGA Tour winners from the previous calendar year - matched Woodland's 68 after carding three straight birdies through holes four to six and picking up another shot on the ninth.

The Northern Irishman got up and down on the 14th to briefly tie for the lead, before closing with four straight pars to get to 14 under and keep himself in contention to overtake Woodland over the last 18 holes on the Plantation Course at Kapalua.

Marc Leishman also carded a five-under 68 to move into third place on 13 under. After two birdies on the front nine, the Australian picked up four shots after the turn including a 27-foot birdie on the 12th.

World number one Brooks Koepka tumbled down the standings with a 73, an eagle on the ninth cancelled out by three bogeys, and lies in joint 29th.

Ian Poulter dropped into joint 13th after firing a 73, while fellow Englishman Paul Casey tied for the low round of the day on 68 to move into joint 11th.

Round two report

The 29-year-old carded a second-round 68 to leave him chasing American leader Gary Woodland.

McIlroy had shot a bogey and two birdies before the turn but the Northern Irishman produced a flawless back nine, holing four birdies, to keep himself in the chasing pack.

He was joined in second place by Bryson DeChambeau, who matched McIlroy with a round of 68, and day one leader Kevin Tway, who carded a two-under 71 after his first-round 66.

Three-time PGA Tour winner Woodland bogeyed the second and seventh hole but rallied to hole five straight birdies through holes 11 to 15 and match his first-round 67 to get to 12 under.

World number one Brooks Koepka settled for a round of 70 after a disappointing first-round 76 to move into joint 27th, while England's Ian Poulter moved up the leaderboard to tie for ninth place on six under.

Round one report

Kevin Tway built a one-shot lead as he made his debut at the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

The American fired a round of seven-under 66 on the opening day in Hawaii to move to the top of the leaderboard with compatriots Gary Woodland, Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson his closest challengers.

Tway's blemish-free round included seven birdies in what is his first appearance in the winners-only event after earning his first PGA Tour title at the Safeway Open in October last year.

The 30-year-old, son of eight-time PGA Tour winner Bob Tway, picked up shots early on the second, third and fifth holes before holing back-to-back birdies just before the turn and closed with further gains on the 15th and 16th.

Woodland had eight birdies and two bogeys to leave him on six under alongside Thomas and Johnson, who both bogeyed the sixth.

After an eagle on the par-five 5th, Australian Marc Leishman hit a double-bogey on the 17th to card a five-under 68, while Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, another debutant, sits among a six-strong chasing pack on four under.
