PGA Tour schedule: Golf in the USA will return on June 11 with Charles Schwaub Challenge

The PGA Tour have announced that they will resume the season on June 11 with the Charles Schwaub Challenge, with the first four events being played without fans.

Originally scheduled for May, the Charles Schwaub Challenge is being lined-up by the PGA Tour as the place to re-start the season, which has been suspended since March 12 just after the start of THE PLAYERS Championship.

The first four events being played upon the resumption will be played without the general public, but the Tour say they'll make decisions closer to the time based on what the local advice is from local authorities about the safety of fans and players during the on-going coronavirus pandemic.

The revamped 2019-20 season will end with the TOUR Championship at the start of September and will contain 36 events overall now, with 22 having already been completed before the suspension.

There's been plenty of movement within the schedule (see below for full schedules) but PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan says all the dates have been set with safety in mind.

“The health and safety of all associated with the PGA TOUR and our global community continues to be our No. 1 priority, and our hope is to play a role – responsibly – in the world’s return to enjoying the things we love,” said Monahan.

“Today’s announcement is another positive step for our fans and players as we look toward the future, but as we’ve stressed on several occasions, we will resume competition only when – working closely with our tournaments, partners and communities – it is considered safe to do so under the guidance of the leading public health authorities.”
