Solheim Cup: Jessica Korda pulls out of United States team with arm injury.

Paula Creamer will replace the injured Jessica Korda in the United States team which will defend the Solheim Cup next week.

Korda qualified automatically for the United States team which are Sky Bet's favourites to defend the trophy against Europe in Des Moines, Iowa, but withdrew from the Ricoh Women's British Open after an opening 76 at Kingsbarns.

The 24-year-old flew home for treatment but announced on Twitter on Monday that she would not be fit to compete in the biennial contest.

US captain Juli Inkster was aware of the problem and was allowed to nominate an alternate when she selected her two wild cards - Austin Ernst and Angel Yin - on Sunday.

The alternate's name was not revealed at the time, but Inkster announced on Tuesday that Creamer would make a seventh consecutive appearance in the biennial contest.

"I've got a lot of faith and confidence in Paula," Inkster said in a teleconference. "She reminds me a lot of myself as far as heart and grit."

Speaking after initially leaving Creamer out of the team on Sunday, Inkster said: "She was upset. She's a competitor. She wanted to be on the team.

"I would be upset, too. I explained to her why I picked these two (Ernst and Yin) here."
