The jumps season is winding down by the Punchestown Festival offers us one final glimpse at the best in the game. With 40 races spread over five days, it is an unmissable close to the Irish racing season taking place in the iconic fields of County Kildare. 

The Ladbrokes Punchestown Gold Cup (Grade 1) headlines the day 2 action and will see the incredible Galopin Des Champs make another appearence, looking to bounce back from his narrow Cheltenham defeat. Day 1 was filled with upsets to Ballyburn, Fact To File and Kopek Des Bordes and fans will be hoping Galopin Des Champs can buck the trend.

Worth €180,000 to the winner, previous winners include Fastorslow, Neptune Collonges and Allaho. Run over 3m, it is one of the few races current chasing star Galopin Des Champs has failed to win in his illustrious career.
