Preston claimed a thrilling 4-3 win over Brentford, Bristol City beat Hull and Nottingham Forest triumphed 3-0 at Bolton.

Norwich moved up to fourth in the Sky Bet Championship table on Tuesday night as they inflicted Dean Smith's first defeat as Aston Villa boss while Middlesbrough remain top despite a goalless draw with Rotherham.
Sheffield United miss the chance to leapfrog Boro as Joe Allen's late free-kick salvaged a 1-1 draw for Stoke, who fell behind to Leon Clarke's first goal of the season.
Gary Gardner struck to help sink Reading and lift Birmingham over their bitter rivals - and his parent club - Aston Villa while there were also wins for QPR, Swansea and Millwall.
