Football

Premier League: Everton v Fulham (Saturday, 1500 BST)

Despite winning the last 21 of these fixtures, Everton and Marco Silva are already under pressure and with Fulham's Mitrovic a constant danger, the draw is the result that has most appeal - and with both defences being leaky at best there could be a few goals in it.

Sporting Life's Premier League Accumulator (All games Saturday, 1500 BST)

League One: Burton v Scunthorpe (Saturday, 1500 BST)

Scunthorpe have picked up nine points from their last possible 15 and are unbeaten in the five games since Stuart McCall was made their new manager. In four of the last five games both teams have scored and conceded.

Sporting Life EFL Accumulator (All games Saturday, 1500 BST)

It came in last week, so we are hoping for back-to-back wins, so click here to back Brentford, Doncaster, Forest Green and Lincoln all to win enhanced to 11/1

Horse Racing

Ben Linfoot

Ice Lord has run well a couple of times on the Rowley Mile course at Newmarket, finishing with a flourish on each occasion, and he could well bag a win at the track in the closing Newmarket Journal Handicap on Saturday.

Second in this race last year, he’s in great form judging by his narrow second at Ascot last time, and stepping back up to seven furlongs looks ideal.

David Ord

Ralph Beckett’s charge looked a potential big player in the Bet365 Cambridgeshire but quick ground at Newmarket meant a detour via the M6 to Newton-Le-Willows and he shouldn’t be missed.

He’s only run once for current connections, finishing third in the Lincoln from the same mark he races off here. That was a fine effort and he takes a significant drop in grade here. Underfoot conditions suit and there’s plenty of mileage left in him. He goes well fresh and with his stable flying right now, rates the best bet on a busy afternoon of sport.

Matt Brocklebank

The Cambridgeshire can be run on bad ground given its slot in the calendar but it’s Good to Firm on the Rowley Mile and set fair for the weekend. Stylehunter is a rapidly progressive three-year-old from the best yard in Newmarket and there’s a good chance he’s a future Group horse who sneaks in here under a lovely racing weight. The extremely high draw can go one of two ways on the day but he’s among the best-handicapped horses in the race and is a very fair price considering he'll love the quick conditions.

Formula 1

Russian Grand Prix Qualifying (Saturday 1255 BST)

Vettel is entering win-or-bust territory in his quest for a fifth world title, and a first in Ferrari red. The Ferrari will be able to stretch its legs down Sochi's ultra-long pit straight, while Pirelli's tyre choices should again leave the Scuderia with no excuses for not getting the most from their package.

NFL

Touchdown Treble

There's been seven touchdowns between the these three in the opening three weeks - Gronkowski (1), Adams (3), Evans (3). Gronkowski scored twice in his last game against Miami while Evans was also on the mark in his last game against Chicago. No player has scored more touchdowns in the last two seasons than Adams.

Snooker

China Championship Semi Final (Saturday 0700 BST)

Haotian has done nothing but impress in reaching the last four and he looks worth a bet to see off his opponent. Higgins has struggled for his best form all week and though his excellent match play should stand him in good stead again, he will need to up his game if he is to get the better of the exciting Haotian.

Darts

World Grand Prix (Septermber 30-October 6)

  • Joe Cullen to win first quarter at 7/1 & 80/1 e-w to win title

The Rockstar came of age on the televised stage in a thrilling quarter-final at the World Matchplay and he so nearly defied Gary Anderson's perfect leg only to miss two match darts at 15-14 up. Cullen, who I'd backed to win the quarter at big odds, had previously thrashed Gerwyn Price and Daryl Gurney 10-3 and 11-3 respectively to prove he can unlock his undoubted talents when it really matters. Since then he's twice gone close to winning his first PDC title of the season when reaching the semi-finals at the German Darts Championship while he also reached his seventh quarter-final of 2018 at the Dutch Darts Championship.

Golf

Ryder Cup

Justin Thomas could be worth backing to be the top US scorer at the Ryder Cup ahead of Saturday’s third session. Thomas is tied first at the moment and looks well-drawn in the fourth match alongside Jordan Spieth, with the pair well capable of winning twice on the day. Thomas gets the vote ahead of Spieth owing to his greater familiarity with the course and concerns over Spieth’s singles record.
